Lead the design and deployment of advanced AI solutions to transform healthcare delivery and improve member outcomes at L.A. Care Health Plan.

As an Applied Artificial Intelligence Scientist III at L.A. Care Health Plan, you will lead the development and deployment of advanced AI/ML models to improve health outcomes, operational efficiency, and member experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact AI opportunities, design innovative algorithms, and translate complex data insights into actionable business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and evaluate machine learning models for predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision
• Conduct research to identify state-of-the-art AI techniques and evaluate their potential application in healthcare
• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects from concept to production
• Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Mentor junior AI scientists and contribute to best practices in AI/ML development

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 8+ years of experience
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and statistical modeling
• Proficiency in Python and experience with big data tools (Spark, SQL)
• Proven track record of deploying AI/ML models in production environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field; or Master's with equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development (with Ph.D.) or 8+ years (with Master's)
• Expertise in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and Python
• Experience with big data technologies (Apache Spark, SQL)
• Proven ability to lead AI projects from concept to production
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and modeling
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
