We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in System-on-Module (SoM) design and development to join our dynamic team at Harmattan AI. In this role, you will architect, implement, and optimize embedded software solutions for next-generation AI-powered edge devices. You will work closely with hardware engineers, algorithm developers, and product teams to bring innovative products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain board support packages (BSP), device drivers, and firmware for SoM-based platforms
• Integrate and optimize real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux on custom hardware
• Collaborate with hardware teams to define SoM specifications and interface requirements
• Write efficient, testable code in C/C++ and Python for microcontrollers and application processors
• Perform system-level debugging, performance tuning, and power optimization
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Python for scripting and testing
• Deep understanding of SoM architectures (e.g., NXP i.MX, TI Sitara, Raspberry Pi Compute Module)
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, device tree, kernel drivers)
• Expertise in RTOS development (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
• Experience with communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing in embedded contexts
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
