Position Overview

Serco is seeking an Experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in support of critical government and commercial infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of our on-premises and cloud-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance and best practices
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and system outages
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes
• Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for improvements

Who You Are You are a seasoned infrastructure professional with a passion for keeping systems running smoothly. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable working independently. You have a strong grasp of modern infrastructure concepts and are committed to continuous learning.

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a related field
• Deep knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with network protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and monitoring tools
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment
• US citizenship or permanent residency required (due to contract requirements)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, MCSA, RHCSA) are a plus
