We are seeking a Finance Associate to support financial management and reporting at UNDP. This role involves processing transactions, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with UN financial regulations.

Role Overview

As a Finance Associate at UNDP, you will be a key member of the Country Office finance team, ensuring efficient financial management and compliance with UN regulations. Your work will directly support the implementation of development projects across Germany and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review budgets, financial reports, and donor statements
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and advise project managers
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure audit readiness
• Support internal controls and financial risk management
• Liaise with banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders on financial matters
• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements

Work Environment

Contract Type

This is a remote-friendly contract, allowing hybrid work arrangements with occasional presence in the Bonn office.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in finance or accounting, preferably in an international organization
• Strong knowledge of IPSAS or IFRS accounting standards
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of German is an asset
• Experience with UN/UNDP financial regulations is a plus
