As a Lead Software Engineer, DevOps (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering), you will spearhead initiatives to enhance the reliability and resilience of Capital One's cloud-based infrastructure. You will design and implement automated solutions for incident detection, response, and recovery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and performance in a fast-paced financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust cloud operations frameworks using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and reduce downtime.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms for critical systems.
• Lead root cause analysis and blameless post-mortems to drive systemic improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of reliability and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on DevOps or SRE.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and incident management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience leading technical teams.
• Financial services experience is a plus.
