Capital One seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer to architect and manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, leading a team to deliver reliable, scalable financial technology solutions.

As a Lead Software Engineer, DevOps at Capital One, you will drive the evolution of our cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will lead a team of engineers to automate deployments, ensure system reliability, and optimize performance across hybrid environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, requiring you to mentor developers, define SLOs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate delivery of financial technology solutions. You will work primarily with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and modern observability stacks to build resilient, secure platforms that power Capital One’s digital banking ecosystem.

• Experience: 7+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 2 years leading technical teams
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• CI/CD & Automation: Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef)
• Containerization: Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration in production
• Monitoring & Logging: Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack)
• Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in Python, Go, or Shell scripting
• Security: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, IAM, secrets management, and compliance in financial services
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to stakeholders
