About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Legal AI System Architect to design and implement cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions tailored for the legal industry. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between legal expertise and advanced AI technologies, creating systems that automate document review, contract analysis, legal research, and compliance monitoring. You will lead the architecture of scalable, secure, and ethically compliant AI platforms that transform how legal professionals work.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for AI-driven legal systems, including natural language processing (NLP) models, machine learning pipelines, and knowledge graphs.
• Collaborate with legal experts, data scientists, and engineers to translate legal workflows into technical requirements.
• Design and implement scalable architectures for real-time document analysis, contract clause extraction, and risk assessment.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and legal ethics standards.
• Lead the evaluation and integration of third-party AI tools and APIs.
• Establish best practices for testing, validation, and continuous improvement of AI models in legal contexts.
• Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of innovation and quality.

Technology Stack

• Education: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field. A degree in Law with strong technical background is also welcome.
• Experience: 5+ years in software architecture with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML system design, preferably in legal or document-intensive domains.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Deep knowledge of NLP, large language models (LLMs), and information retrieval.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Legal Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with legal document workflows, contract lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, eDiscovery) is highly valued.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and leadership abilities, ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a collaborative mindset.
• Languages: Fluent in English; German is a plus.
