About the Role
As a Platform Architect at dLocal, you will be the technical visionary for our core platform, shaping the architecture that powers global payments in over 40 countries. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders to design scalable, resilient, and secure systems that enable merchants and customers to transact seamlessly across borders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the long-term technical architecture vision and roadmap for the dLocal platform.
- Design and document high-level system architecture, including microservices, data pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural principles.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into technical solutions.
- Conduct architecture reviews, design workshops, and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, including performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability limits.
- Drive architectural standards and best practices across the organization.
What You'll Work With
- AWS cloud infrastructure (or equivalent)
- Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh technologies
- Microservices architecture (Node.js, Go, Java, or similar)
- Distributed systems, databases (SQL, NoSQL), and event-driven architectures
- CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tools
- Payment industry standards (PCI DSS, ISO 20022, etc.)
