Overview
Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the planning and design phases of major infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring projects are properly scoped, budgeted, and scheduled before construction begins, setting the stage for successful delivery. You will work closely with clients, engineers, estimators, and construction teams to develop comprehensive project plans that align with company goals and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-construction activities including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment for large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., electrical utility, renewable energy, transportation).
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed project plans and specifications.
- Manage the bidding process: review proposals, negotiate contracts, and select qualified subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct value engineering analyses to optimize project costs without compromising quality or schedule.
- Ensure all pre-construction deliverables meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Track project budgets and schedules from initial concept through design completion, reporting to senior management.
- Facilitate project handoff to construction teams, providing clear documentation and transition plans.
- Support business development by preparing estimates and feasibility studies for new project opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pre-construction, estimating, or project management within the infrastructure or heavy civil construction sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects ( >$10M) from design through construction.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to infrastructure (utilities, roads, renewable energy, etc.).
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Professional certification (e.g., CCM, PMP, PE) is a plus.
