We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our Money Movement team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core money movement systems that handle millions of transactions daily. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, finance, and operations to ensure our payment infrastructure is scalable, secure, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and build high-volume, low-latency transaction processing systems
• Lead technical design discussions and make key decisions on technology stack and architecture
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices in software development
• Collaborate with product managers to define technical requirements and delivery timelines
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2)
• Conduct code reviews, performance optimizations, and system troubleshooting
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering processes and tools
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in payments and fintech

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on financial systems or payment platforms
• Extensive experience with Java, C#, or similar object-oriented programming languages
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis)
• Deep understanding of money movement, payment rails, wire transfers, ACH, and real-time payment systems
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and security best practices in financial services
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
