Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Engineer in our Nuclear division, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality systems that ensure all products and processes meet stringent nuclear industry standards. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs in accordance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1, and ASME Section III requirements.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and process evaluations to identify non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
• Perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement effective preventive measures.
• Review and approve quality-related documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet specifications.
• Support regulatory and customer audits, acting as a primary point of contact for quality matters.
• Track quality metrics and prepare reports for management review.
• Facilitate training on quality standards and best practices.

Work Environment

This is a remote contract position with occasional travel to the Lake Forest, CA facility or customer sites. You will work closely with a distributed team and have access to digital collaboration tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience, preferably in the nuclear industry.
• In-depth knowledge of nuclear quality standards (NQA-1, ASME Section III, 10 CFR 50).
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with auditing (internal and supplier) and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
• Proficiency with quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
