As a Senior Cloud Engineer (d/f/m), you will architect and manage scalable, secure cloud solutions that power millions of transactions daily. You will work autonomously in a remote-first environment, collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams across Germany.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Manage containerized microservices on Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), including scaling, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or ArgoCD to ensure rapid, reliable deployments.
• Optimize cloud costs and performance while adhering to security best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption).
• Automate operational tasks using Python or Go to improve system reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation (once every 4–6 weeks) with proactive incident response.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE.
• Expert knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS or GCP) – certification is a plus (AWS Solutions Architect / GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes in production (deployments, service mesh, networking).
• Proficiency in Terraform and understanding of state management, modules, and remote backends.
• Solid scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
• Experience with monitoring & logging stacks (Prometheus, Loki, ELK, Datadog).
• Fluent English (C1+) – German is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting, and excellent communication skills.
