Ebury is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Platform team in Madrid, Spain. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our global financial services.

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers Ebury's financial technology solutions. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient data processing and storage. Key responsibilities include:

• Architecting and building robust data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Managing and optimizing data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Implementing ETL/ELT processes and monitoring data quality
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and best practices
• Mentoring junior engineers and conducting code reviews
• Ensuring data security and compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR)
• Automating deployment and monitoring of data infrastructure using CI/CD tools
• Evaluating and integrating new data technologies to improve performance

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and pipeline architecture
• Familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Airflow) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
