Join OpenVPN as a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to build and maintain the backbone of our secure, high-performance VPN services in a fully remote environment.

As a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer at OpenVPN, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure that powers the world's most trusted VPN and cybersecurity solutions. You will work alongside a team of passionate engineers to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our platform, which serves millions of users globally. This is a remote-first role, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while having a significant impact on our product and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of production and development environments
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Manage containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to define infrastructure requirements and improve system architecture
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions
• Ensure security best practices are integrated into all infrastructure components
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 platform availability
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to engineering documentation

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Proficiency with AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM) or equivalent GCP experience
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go)
• Experience with configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration (Linux)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across time zones
• Nice to have: experience with VPN technologies, encryption, or cybersecurity
