We are seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our team at Steampunk. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating security best practices into the DevOps lifecycle for high-impact government projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

• Architecting and automating CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls
• Conducting security assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management
• Implementing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
• Managing containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitoring system performance and security events using SIEM and observability tools
• Developing scripts and tools to automate compliance and security checks
• Mentoring junior engineers and advocating for DevSecOps best practices

• Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or security engineering roles
• Security Focus: Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP) and compliance requirements
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP services (AWS preferred)
• Automation Skills: Expertise in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and IaC (Terraform, Ansible)
• CI/CD: Deep knowledge of tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Containers: Experience managing Docker and Kubernetes clusters
• Monitoring: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK stack
• Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance (US Citizenship required)
