Job Description

As Senior Project Manager for Building & Infrastructure Engineering at Fresenius Group, you will be responsible for leading complex construction and infrastructure projects across our healthcare facilities in Germany and internationally. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies and design through procurement, construction, and handover. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in building engineering, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects (hospitals, production facilities, labs) with budgets exceeding €10 million.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets; monitor progress and ensure adherence to schedules and cost targets.
• Coordinate with external design teams, construction firms, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with German building codes (Bauordnung), safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Lead project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Report to senior management on project status, financials, and milestones.
• Drive value engineering and sustainable construction practices.
• Support site selection and due diligence for new facilities.

Requirements

• Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (Master's preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience in building and infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Certifications: PMP, IPMA Level B, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, BIM software (e.g., Revit), and CAD tools.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of German construction laws, VOB (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen), and HOAI (Honorarordnung für Architekten und Ingenieure).
• Language: Fluent in German (C1) and English (B2+); additional languages are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities; strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 30% of the time).
