Build and scale the data infrastructure that powers Speechify's award-winning text-to-speech and audiobook platform, working on high-volume data acquisition and processing systems.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Data Infrastructure and Acquisition team at Speechify. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the systems that collect, store, and process millions of data points daily from various sources. You'll work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to ensure reliable, scalable data pipelines that power our AI-driven text-to-speech and audiobook platform. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and speed of our content acquisition and processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources (web, APIs, third-party services)
• Develop and optimize data storage solutions (SQL and NoSQL databases, data lakes)
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of data infrastructure
• Collaborate on data quality monitoring and anomaly detection
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
• Document system designs and operational procedures

• Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on data infrastructure
• Programming: Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages; experience with SQL
• Data Technologies: Familiarity with data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka), storage systems (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, S3), and ETL tools
• Cloud: Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to debug complex distributed systems
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile teams
• Languages: Fluent English (German is a plus)
