Role Overview

As a Software Engineer specializing in Network Automation, WAN & Edge, you will join our Infrastructure team to design, build, and maintain the network systems that power our AI platform. You will be responsible for automating the management of our wide area network (WAN) and edge computing infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. You will work closely with our platform and research teams to ensure seamless data flow between cloud, on-premise, and edge environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions for WAN, edge, and network infrastructure using Python, Ansible, and other tooling
• Architect and implement software-defined networking (SDN) policies and configurations for cloud and on-premise environments
• Monitor network performance and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving issues
• Collaborate with platform engineers to optimize network architecture for AI training and inference workloads
• Write comprehensive documentation and create runbooks for network operations
• Contribute to the selection and evaluation of networking hardware and software vendors
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 uptime for critical infrastructure

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years focused on automation
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Ansible for network automation
  • Deep understanding of WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF)
  • Experience with edge computing concepts and technologies (CDN, IoT, edge gateways)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios)
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for network changes
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills in English (French is a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior engineers
• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, AWS Advanced Networking) are highly desirable
