As a Specialist, Software Quality Engineer at L3Harris, you will be a key contributor to ensuring the reliability and performance of complex software systems in the aerospace and defense domain. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute robust quality assurance processes, driving continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications and embedded systems.
• Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools; work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Review software requirements, design documents, and code to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, CMMI).
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks and continuous integration pipelines.
• Participate in design and code reviews, providing feedback from a quality perspective.
• Generate and analyze quality metrics to drive process improvements and risk mitigation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for software anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of quality engineering practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or software testing
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or similar)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla)
• Ability to read and understand code (Java, C++, Python preferred)
• Knowledge of industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, DO-178C) is a plus
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements
