Summary
As a Technical Publication Author at Thwaites Ltd, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for our range of dumpers and related equipment. You will work closely with engineering, product, and service teams to translate complex technical information into accessible manuals, guides, and online help resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and update technical publications including operator manuals, service manuals, parts catalogs, and quick reference guides.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure accuracy.
• Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Use authoring tools and content management systems to produce outputs in various formats (PDF, HTML, print).
• Review and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and end-users to improve documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and company style guides.
• Maintain documentation archives and version control.

• Proven experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar).
• Experience with content management systems and version control.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, DITA) is a plus.
